Obernburg Star - Main-Bachgau-Mömling Valley

 The starting point is the Obernburg Star Info Point at the Anna Chapel in Obernburg. Crossing the pedestrian bridge over the Main, take the signposted bike path along the Main from Obernburg-Elsenfeld station always heading towards Aschaffenburg. You pass through the Franconian towns of Kleinwallstadt, Sulzbach, and Obernau. The route passes the Aschaffenburg floating dock and finally the famous Renaissance castle Johannisburg and the Pompejanum. In good weather, the Main meadows invite you to sunbathe. Also worth seeing: the collegiate basilica on the old town hill by the town hall.

Continue along the Main out of town to Mainaschaff and over the railway bridge to the other side of the Main to Stockstadt – where a Roman fort once stood. Immediately turn right over Alten Stadtweg, Schulstraße and past the forest swimming pool, parallel to the small river Gersprenz. The path turns left into the forest towards Großostheim and runs along the Hessian-Bavarian border for quite a while – up to the roundabout at the airfield.

Continue to Großostheim to the town center at the historic market square: take in the half-timbered ensemble there, visit the Bachgau museum or the church of St. Peter and Paul.

Leave Großostheim via Jahnstraße, Maßpforte, and Riegelstraße past the Petersbildstock to Pflaumheim. Passing the sports ground, follow the signs further to Wenigumstadt. There you will pass the Fourteen Helpers Chapel across the street to Rittelberg, see the old railway embankment, and cycle along the signs towards Mömlingen. After the steep climb over the hill, there is the opportunity to take a break at the "Waldesruh Wenigumstadt" inn. Through Mömlingen, the path leads past the riding facility and the leisure area through the district Eisenbach to Obernburg.

Coming from Frankfurt: Leave the A3 at Aschaffenburg onto the B469 (exit "Stockstadt") towards Miltenberg. The Obernburg exit is signposted.

Coming from Würzburg: Leave the A3 at the "Rohrbrunn" exit. Obernburg is signposted.

By train heading towards Aschaffenburg or Miltenberg to the Obernburg-Elsenfeld stop. Then cross the pedestrian bridge to Obernburg and continue straight ahead for 200 meters to find the Town Hall square.
