The Kaltenbronn forests with the raised bogs Hohlohsee and Wildsee, with cirques and block slopes, harbor the most sensitive gems of the Northern Black Forest landscape, providing habitat for many rare animals and plants. Already in 1928, part of the Wildsee Moors received protection status as a “protected forest area.”
The hike on leisurely hiking trails (sections of the Mittelweg) offers extensive forest sections and special views and insights. The Dobler Viewpoint offers a wonderful view over the Eyach and Rotenbach valleys up to the sun island Dobel.
The highlight of the route is the moor area with the Hornsee and the Wildsee. On the boardwalk, you can cross this special landscape and enjoy the unique flora and fauna. Those who take time to linger on one of the resting benches can fully enjoy nature.
This hike is perfect for everyone who wants to enjoy nature and prefers routes that are not too demanding.
The circular route runs on the marked hiking trail network of the Black Forest Association. The rhombus signage leads you from signpost location to signpost location along the way.
