This beautiful circular route leads from the Bad Herrenalb monastery ruins to the spring nature trail. It takes us past the Härtwig hut and the Knoll bridge to Zieflensberg and the upper Gaistal with dining options at Spechtschmiede country inn and Talwiese ski lodge. The return takes us via the Hirschwinkel hut with barbecue facilities around the Wurstberg back to Bad Herrenalb.
We start at the Tourist-Info Bad Herrenalb, go through the archway into the historic monastery quarter, past the monastery ruins, to the monastery barn. There we follow the signage of the spring nature trail (a blue dragonfly), which leads us to the Albtalweg. We follow this with the stations until the end of the spring experience trail in Zieflensberg. You will pass the Härtwig hut and the Knoll bridge with special rock formations. At the end of the path, turn left and go a short distance uphill past the Spechtschmiede country inn heading towards Talwiese. Upon reaching the ski slope, we turn left towards the Hirschwinkel hut, the ideal resting place with a barbecue area. From the Hirschwinkel hut, the Schanzweg leads us over the Wurstberg back to the historic monastery quarter in Bad Herrenalb.
On the way, we follow the signage of the Black Forest Association.
