Albtraufgänger (Stage 2) *Trauf-Genuss*

Through wonderful nature, the route leads to Aichelberg, which is a remnant of former volcanoes and stands out distinctly from the landscape due to its cone stump shape. Passing through the small village of Eckwälden with its WALA garden, the route continues to Bad Boll. The three healing remedies sulfur water, thermal mineral water, and Jura mud make Bad Boll an ideal place for relaxation. A visit to the Badhaus Bad Boll is definitely worthwhile.

The Albtraufgänger route then leads to the so-called Tempele. Built in 1824 under the original name "Belvedere" (Italian for a place with a beautiful view), the Tempele offers a magnificent view of the lower Filstal and the three imperial mountains Rechberg, Stuifen, and Hohenstaufen. The route then goes gently uphill to the Boller Heide amid beautiful nature. A small shelter and a barbecue area invite you to linger.

The journey continues via Dürnau with the Swabian Proverb Path and the Gralglas Museum, where unique vases and other decorative pieces can be admired, to Gammelshausen. Every two years, the community attracts several thousand visitors with the "Almabtrieb". From Gammelshausen, the trail leads up to the Galgenbuckel, through the forest to the Fuchseckhof. Here there is the possibility to visit the small fruit community of Schlat via the blue triangle. In the manufactory of Jörg Geiger, delicious sparkling wines from various fruit varieties can be tasted.

The ascent continues towards Fuchseck, from where you have a magnificent panorama. A forest path then leads the Albtraufgänger to the Gairen hiking car park. The route runs with great views along the forest edge and around the mountain. From here, it is only 300 meters to the Wasserberghaus.

The ascents require surefootedness, especially when wet.

Take the RadWanderBus Kirchheim unter Teck - Reußenstein to the stop "Deutsches Haus" (May to October on Sundays and public holidays). Additionally, line 981 towards Gruibingen to the stop "Rathaus" can be taken. From the stop "Rathaus" it is still approx. 1 hour on foot to the starting point. Try to avoid twilight in the morning and evening. Observe the prohibition of entering agriculturally used areas during the growing season. Stay on designated paths and avoid forest edges, so that wild animals can better get used to humans.
