Chapels in Breitnau: old and new!
From the Baschihof chapel in Ödenbach past the former Ravenna chapel to the Abrahamenhof, through a varied landscape via the outskirts of Breitnau to the new chapel in Moos. Then on to the Hohwarthof chapel....
From the Baschihof chapel in Ödenbach past the former Ravenna chapel to the Abrahamenhof, through a varied landscape via the outskirts of Breitnau to the new chapel in Moos. Then on to the Hohwarthof chapel. Past the windmill to the Hohwart-Höhe with its panoramic views and then via the Schanzenhäusle to Breitnau church.
The tour begins with a visit to the Baschi farm chapel, which is located near the Ödenbach bus stop at Hotel Faller. You set off in the direction of Wirbstein and reach the Abrahmenhof with the Jodokus Chapel after around 20 minutes. After a short break, continue along the path and after about 15 minutes you will reach the center of Breitnau.
From there, turn left down to the BASF recreation center. Follow the path to the right along the edge of the forest down to the new Maria im Moos chapel. There you will be greeted by soft choral music.
From the Maria-im-Moos chapel, the trail climbs up to the Schuhhof farm and after around 25 minutes you reach the Hohwarthof farm with its farm chapel.
Now continue over the Hohwart (1120m) to the Schanzenhäusle and down the road to the church in Breitnau.
From there you can reach the starting point or Hinterzarten by bus. Alternatively, you can also walk back to our starting point via the Abrahmenhof farm (another 25-minute walk).

Hotel Faller or at the ski lift (Tannenwirtshaus)
The highlight is the new chapel in Moos, inaugurated in 2010. There are good places to stop for refreshments in the Schanzenhäusle (closed on Mondays).
