Maienbergkopf trail

Start at Dobel spa house, over the Sonnenweg with a wide view to the west as far as the Palatinate Forest. Past the water tower, head towards the sports field and then to the Pfützenhäusle junction, which we cross to turn right onto the Gidesweg.
About 3 km lie ahead of us, where we circle the Maienbergkopf. The highest point of our route is the "Ilsebänkle" on a clearing.
Remember to bring your drinks and enjoy the fresh air and tranquility.
Going straight ahead, we reach the paved path that leads us left back to the Sonnentor.

Nordic walking poles and good footwear, something to drink

You can reach our spa town by car from the A8 coming from Stuttgart via Pforzheim (West motorway exit), continuing towards Birkenfeld, Neuenbürg, Straubenhardt, and then towards Dobel.

If coming from the A5 motorway towards Karlsruhe, take exit 47 to Ettlingen. Continue on the L562 towards Bad Herrenalb through the beautiful Alb valley. From Bad Herrenalb, Dobel is just 5 km away.

By bus to Dobel, town center.
Then about 150m to the spa house.

You can conveniently reach Dobel from Pforzheim by public transport using bus line 716 in just 50 minutes. From Karlsruhe, take tram line 1 with the final stop at Bad Herrenalb. From there, bus lines 716, X63, or 719 will take you to Dobel.

Enjoy the view from the former water tower, now an observation tower, which is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from May to October.
