WILDLIFE EDUCATIONAL PATH BELALP - BLATTEN

From the mountain station of the cable car on the Belalp, the new themed trail leads to the Aletschbord, then down to the Holzji and over the hamlet of Egga back to Blatten. This hike can be done alone or under the expert guidance of a hunter or a forester. Along the way, you will learn valuable information about wildlife and forest from information boards.

Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, as well as sufficient supplies of food and drinks are recommended in case there are no inns or shops open. Although the path is consistently very well marked, for safety reasons you should always carry a suitable hiking map. Bring sticks or other aids.

Despite the “unmissable” marking of hiking trails, we recommend for safety reasons to always carry a suitable hiking map, so that in the event of a thunderstorm or emergency you can quickly find a safe area.

Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After storms, trees can still fall or branches may come down. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. You must expect such trail impairments when hiking.

Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is partially required. If you think certain trail sections are not passable for you, you should avoid them.

From Ticino (in summer): Airolo - Nufenen pass - Ulrichen – Brig

Or via Centovalli – Domodossola – Simplon pass – Brig

From Italy (Aosta, Mt. Blanc Tunnel): Aosta - Grand Saint Bernard tunnel (in summer via the pass) - Martigny: motorway A9 - Sierre: main road Sierre – Brig

Blatten bei Naters

From Brig you reach Blatten bei Naters via Naters, then take the cable car to the car-free Belalp.

Blatten bei Naters can be reached by public transport from Brig or Naters.

The Belalp can be reached from Blatten by cable car.
