Col de Champoussin – Mythical Alpine passes

The route starts on the right valley bank up to Troistorrents, from where the road crosses the Vièze and leads you to the opposite side of the valley. From Val d’Illiez, the road becomes narrower and steeper as it winds through pastures towards Crosets and Champoussin. Upon reaching the pass summit, you definitely have to take a look at Mont Ruan before heading down through the village of Champoussin.

Our recommendation: Technically flawless bike, helmet, gloves and bell, clothing suitable for the weather (always with you: rain protection), drink and provisions.

Motorway A9 to exit 19 (Bex), then take the second exit towards Monthey at the roundabout. Coming from Lausanne, take exit 18 (St-Triphon) and do not drive through the tunnel into the Collombey valley, but continue towards Monthey city center.

You can reach Monthey with regular connections by regional trains on the Simplon line Brig - St. Gingolph.
