From Visperterminen, the mountain station Giw is easily accessible by chairlift. On the terrace of the mountain restaurant, riders can enjoy a coffee before the start and the view of the Weisshorn, the Mischabel group, and the distinctive Bietschhorn.
Then the trail fun really begins. In the first section from Giw down to Muttji, mountain bikers can expect a clear and wide trail with many descents. Afterwards, a flatter section leads to Hüoterhüsi and through the picturesque hamlet of Ara to Hotee. From there, the singletrail through the 2011 fire area is a real enduro highlight: since the varied trail lies in places on exposed terrain, speed should be adjusted to individual riding skills. The trail was partially rebuilt and is spectacularly embedded in the forest. The tour ends in Visp, where a visit to the old town is definitely worth it: the charming old village section exudes an Italian flair with its numerous restaurants featuring garden terraces.
From Visperterminen, you reach Giw by chairlift and start your descent northwest on a wide, descent-oriented, and clearly designed trail. After two changes of direction follows a flat section on a mainly unpaved road through the forest over Muttji to Alpe Bodma and further to the turning area at Hüoterhüsi. Then the trail leads westwards along the ridge and afterwards zigzags through the idyllic hamlet of Ara to the forest path that heads towards Hotee. At the turning area in Hotee, the singletrail “Phoenix from the Ashes” starts, which passes through exposed terrain in some places and initially runs east along the south side of the Rhone valley, finally joining Terbinerstrasse southeast of Visp after several direction changes. The return ride to Visp is via Terbinerstrasse downhill until the valley floor is reached; from there, keep left and reach Visp station via Bahnhofsstrasse.

You can reach our region environmentally friendly and conveniently by public transport. From all over Switzerland, there are regular train connections to Visp, then by post bus to Visperterminen, and further by chairlift to Giw.
