Wolfmannshausen - Grabfeld - Large Circular Route

Start your route at the Catholic Church of Saint Ägidius in Wolfmannshausen and follow the direction towards Dorfstraße. Turn right and continue straight ahead. At the end of the houses and at the beginning of the fields, you will find a beautiful wayside shrine on the right side that illustrates the religious influence of the area. Along the Aspengraben, the path continues straight ahead on asphalt, where you can take a pleasant rest on a spacious bench with a roof.

Before you reach K2567 towards Behrungen, turn left and follow a gravel path along the edge of the forest, where you can experience nature in all its glory. Follow the signs of the route "2 on green circle." From the rustic bench, which also serves as an emergency point, you can take a detour straight ahead into the forest to the burial mounds on the right. Return to the bench and then continue right along the paved path.

At the next small crossroads, turn right to continue into a nature reserve on a curved road until you reach L3029 towards Mendhausen. Cross the street and continue on the paved path. At the next opportunity, turn left and then right and follow the street until you reach a small, idyllic bench surrounded by reeds and greenery, perfect for another break. This further lovely detour to Hammelsbad, whose water comes from the nearby forest, was formerly known as a place where sheep were bathed and sheared.

Now return to the main path and continue straight ahead towards Wolfmannshausen. A final resting opportunity awaits at a beautiful bench before you reach the lovingly designed sports field with Sportbox (which you can book in advance for a small workout or other activities https://www.sportbox.de/sportler/ ). As you walk through the village, you will discover on the left side in a small wood a cross with a bench that reflects the Catholic imprint of the village, the Christ Garden.

Then the path leads back into the village on a downward winding street. In the village center, visitors can find the local history museum with a house statue. Just a few meters away is the Marian wayside shrine, in front of which the street leads uphill and then turns right into a small alley before the church. At the bakehouse, a lovely covered seating area invites you to let the impressions of this scenic route sink in before you proceed straight ahead back to the starting point.
