This route was created by the Hiking and Leisure Club Arnstadt e.V. and is made available to the city of Arnstadt as well as the administrative community Geratal/Plaue for tourist use. The route is not signposted or marked and can only be hiked with GPS data.
From the Plaue station, the route leads to the art walking route and further to the fortified church in Kleinbreitenbach. The local route out of the city of Plaue leaves via the Lower Tränk Garden. This is followed by an ascent up the Reinsberge before the route then leads into the Wipfragrund and to Reinsfeld. Worth seeing in the town is the historic church. Some parts of it are estimated to date back to the 10th century.
From Reinsfeld, the path leads back over the Reinsberge and further to the Waldschwimmbad in Plaue.
The route can currently only be hiked with GPS data.

There are path sections available. Hiking-appropriate shoes are recommended. General dangers in the forest are pointed out.
Arrival by car via Arnstadt or Ilmenau. Located on L 3004 (former B4). In the Plaue town area continue according to the signs for Kleinbreitenbach until the railway crossing near the station.
Arrival by train (Plaue/Thür. station); located on the Erfurt - Meiningen railway line
Individual parking spaces are available at the station. Outside the summer months, parking is possible at the Waldschwimmbad Plaue parking lot (free of charge).
The hiking route passes the Waldschwimmbad Plaue. There is a snack bar available at the bath.
The art walking route is the result of a regularly held international art symposium and is worth seeing at any time of the year.
