Circular hiking route - "Zunft & Kloß" - Zella-Mehlis - Thuringian Forest

The circular route starts at the hiking parking lot Lubenbachtal. Follow the road a short distance to L 3247, cross it at the crossing and continue on the opposite "Helmer Weg". You will immediately recognize the entrance by the impressive portal where a blacksmith and a dumpling woman carved from wood welcome hikers. From there, you reach Waldfriedhof and turn right. After a slight ascent past the Adamsrod pumping station, the first themed board on "wagoner business" appears on the right. The path continues uphill and leads to Dammwiese. Here is a particularly nice spot to linger: information on shepherding is provided, a bench invites you to enjoy the view over the mountain meadows, and a wooden sculpture enhances the picturesque photo opportunity.
After the next stage, another reason to take a break offers itself: the mountain hut Veilchenbrunnen invites you to stop by, as do the following gastronomy businesses "Sterngrund" and "Waldmühle". Below the mountain hut Veilchenbrunnen, the path continues to the Sterngrund junction. Here you will find the themed board no. 3, the "charcoal burning". Shortly thereafter, another seating group is located by an idyllic small pond before you reach Hotel Sterngrund. Then you cross L 3247 again (please be careful at the crossing - curve) and follow a narrow path to the board "Forestry and Timber Industry". Immediately afterwards, you reach Lubenbachstraße, which you take to the right. The Technology Museum Gesenkschmiede awaits on the left with "technology to touch" and additionally offers a small but fine Kneipp facility in the outdoor area. Opposite the museum, the board on milling completes the information on historical trades that used to exist here. The last dining option, the Hotel "Waldmühle", is located on the left side of the path; shortly afterwards you return to the starting point/parking lot.
