After the overnight stay at Capanna Efra, on the second day you climb in altitude. The ascent to Passo di Gagnone does not in itself pose any particular difficulty. The pass marks the border with the Leventina and the view over the two regions is priceless. Below the summit ridge, a fairly exposed path winds along the rock to the Bocchetta dello Sciaee. Some sections have ropes to hold onto. This section should only be walked if conditions allow.
Now you start to descend in the direction of Gerra Verzasca. An easily passable path surrounded by a very varied landscape leads back down. At Fromighera you follow the course of the Verzasca and return to Frasco, where the bus passes (Locarno-Tenero-Sonogno line). A refreshing swim in the emerald waters of the Verzasca is a real tonic for tired legs.
