Sonnbergrunde

The starting point of the hike is the Steinbergstadion in Leogang. Follow Rosental street past the fitness trail parking lot. At the first junction, keep right. Once you reach the district of Sinning, turn left and go through the railway underpass. Keep left and follow the gravel path until it meets the street at "Stoffenhof." Keep left, then immediately turn right again. Head toward the forest edge and Birnbach. Follow the path to the Ullachtal / Passauerhütte parking lot. Here keep left and continue following the path until it turns left onto a farm. Turn right here and cross through the forest. At the end of the path, turn right onto "Sonnberg" street. After a few meters at the fork, keep left and walk below the mountain village Priesteregg until you reach the Badhaus Leogang after about 2 km. Keep left here and walk downhill. After crossing the railway underpass, keep left, then immediately left again. Follow the path for a short stretch along the railway line, then continue until you reach the main road. Turn left and walk briefly along the main road, then continue along the path beside the Leoganger Ache river towards the town center. Pass the football field and the Leogang swimming pool, then continue back to the starting point at Steinbergstadion.

BY CAR

Driving from Saalfelden, follow the main road into the town of Leogang. On the right side of the main road is the Ritter bakery (Leogang 82, 5771 Leogang). Turn right behind the bakery, then immediately left again. You are now in the parking lot of Steinbergstadion.

BY TRAIN

You can enjoy your vacation from the start by taking the train. No traffic jam will stop you from reaching Saalfelden Leogang! Furthermore, the ÖBB timetable helps you quickly and easily find the ideal train connection to "Leogang Steinberge" station: www.oebb.at (About a 10-minute walk to the starting point)

BY BUS

The starting point at the "Steinbergstadion" football field can be reached by Postbus 690 (Line: Saalfelden - Leogang - Hochfilzen - Fieberbrunn - St. Johann i.T.) from Saalfelden or Leogang. From the "Leogang Ortsmitte" stop, the hike's starting point can be reached on foot within a few minutes. More information can be found at https://fahrplan.salzburg-verkehr.at/
