Once you arrive at Vierenstraße station, you walk a good kilometer into the center of Suppenland until a large open wooden gate reveals a lovingly restored three-sided courtyard: the home of the Weihrichkarzl. Here you can not only watch how the incense candles are made from black charcoal and all kinds of ingredients, but also make them yourself by hand and take them home as a souvenir of a wonderful day. If you don't have the patience to shape the cones, you can visit the store, where you can buy many more Erzgebirge products in addition to the large "Karzl collection" from Huss. And, how could it be otherwise in soup country, in addition to smoking stoves and pots, you will also discover the silver Karzl spoon, an ingenious utensil on which the Karzln smoke safely and quietly, and not just at Christmas time.
There are even more spoons, which were used for their intended purpose in the old days, to be seen in Germany's only soup museum, just opposite. Here you can travel back in time to the days of our ancestors and discover four kitchens decorated in the style of years gone by. There are well over 10,000 exhibits on show, with over 1,000 pieces on display in the "Löffellei" alone, including ice cream spoons, spoon spindles and more. It also reveals how Suppenland actually got its name...
