Hohenwarte is located just a few kilometers from the district town of Saalfeld, which is well known far beyond the borders of Thuringia for its colorful Fairy Grottoes, in the beautiful Saale Valley.
We, the captains of Fahrgastschifffahrt Hohenwarte, are sailors by passion and love steering our ship across the most beautiful reservoir. Every season and every kind of weather gives the lake its own unique charm.
Enjoy the cruise in fine weather on the sun deck, or watch the rising mist from the comfort of our cozy heated passenger cabin.
A cruise on one of our company’s three passenger ships offers fascinating insights into the entire reservoir area.
Each vessel has its own unique charm. Whether modern, nostalgic, or featuring a covered panoramic café – you will feel right at home with us. One thing all our ships have in common is the heated indoor cabin, where you can relax during the trip and enjoy our onboard catering. We serve drinks, ice cream, snacks, as well as coffee and cake.
For special cruises, we are happy to expand our menu upon request. On these occasions, we also treat you to roast suckling pig, freshly smoked trout, or a full evening buffet.
From Easter to October, we take you across the Thuringian Sea.
