Piemonte without car | Ivrea-Biella

Hiking itinerary spanning two provinces: from Ivrea - the capital of Canavese and a UNESCO City for the urban and industrial vision of Adriano Olivetti - to Biella, a UNESCO Creative City for the industrial history of its wool mills.

The route winds through the green landscape of the Morainic Amphitheatre (or Serra) of Ivrea, passing between some of its Five Lakes to go up to Andrate, "Balcony of Canavese" on the Serra Morenica, a large hilly area formed following the last glaciation of the Quaternary. It then descends along the Elvo Valley, at the foot of the Biella Alps, a land rich in woods, clearings and waters, passing through some of the most important places of spirituality in the BIella area: from the Sanctuary of Graglia to Sordevolo, the town of the Passion, and then reaching the center of Biella on the banks of the Oropa Torrent up to the confluence with the Cervo Torrent to enter Biella Piano.
