Flat route in the countryside south of the Turin hill. The town of Carmagnola is left behind to quickly reach the Cistercian Abbey Monastery of Casanova. A narrow paved road then runs along a long straight with views of the hill and the Alpine arc on the clearest days. The route leads to Borgo Cornalese, a rural suburb frozen in time, widely used today as a film set for movies and series set in the past. After passing Villastellone, Santena is reached, home to the Cavourian Center, residence of Camillo Benso Count of Cavour, the statesman who made Italy. After another section through fields and farmhouses, Pessione di Chieri is reached, home to the Martini & Rossi plant and Casa Martini, must-see stops to learn about the history of Vermouth. Before leaving Pessione, the route passes next to Pessione Castle to return on pleasant dirt roads, following the Banna river to Poirino and continuing through the fields to Pralormo.
From the center of Carmagnola head west along Corso Matteotti and then follow the railway to the north. Turn right on the railway overpass and immediately after turn left onto Via Giovanni Agnelli. Turn right onto Via Maruccano, and after a few hundred meters turn left onto the dirt road Via Savarino, which crosses the motorway. Then turn right onto Via Tetti Grandi, pass the homonymous hamlet, and then take the dirt road to the right towards Cascina Isonzo. Travel a short stretch on the provincial road until the Casanova Abbey. From the Abbey proceed along Via Villastellone, which with a very long straight leads to Vallongo, passes over the motorway and leads to Borgo Cornalese. From the Borgo reach Villastellone, leave the settlement via Via Nera, Via Poirino and at the roundabout turn left onto Via Mazzini and immediately after onto Strada della Broglietta. After passing the Petronas plants, re-enter the provincial road, then Via Trinità to the center of Santena. From Santena center, follow the riverbank path along the Banna stream, next to the park of the Cavourian residence, to Tetti Agostino. Continue left on Via Quaglia and after crossing the roundabout, straight on Via Enzo Ferrari and right on Via Ponticelli. After a few hundred meters turn left towards north up to the railway. Here turn left and then right for a short stretch on Strada Fontaneto. Leave this road turning right on Strada Fortemaggiore, follow it to Pessione (Casa Martini). After crossing the railway on a bridge, after about 200m turn right onto Strada della Ca' Bianca, then Via Termine and then right towards Marocchi. Then reach the bank of the Banna river, arriving in Poirino. From the center of Poirino proceed south on Via Forte Antico to Stuerda and then on Strada Cantavenna to Pralormo.
