From the majestic gorges to the tranquil banks of the Orb, the trail offers an admirable variety of small heritage sites linked to water: wash-houses, ferruginous water basins, beals and irrigation systems, the Orb river (information panel on the trail). Panoramic views of the Caroux mountains and the Tour Carrée, which overlooks the Albine stream, enhance the walk. The last part of the itinerary allows you to follow in the footsteps of writer and screenwriter J-C Carrière, a native of Colombières/Orb who walked the daily paths of the Caroux.

From the church parking lot, take the road uphill. Leave the Jean-Claude Carrière path on the right and take a path a few metres further on that climbs up into the undergrowth.

Climb the path and fork left, staying on the path through the undergrowth.

Before reaching the hamlet of Théron, it's possible to make a round trip (5-minute climb) to enjoy a fine view of the Tour Carrée overlooking the Albine stream.

On returning from the panorama, turn left until you reach rue du Théron, which you follow straight ahead. After the Place de l'Ancienne Forge (museum area), turn right into the Grand' Rue, then straight ahead into the allée du château. After the château, turn left. At the fork in the road, leave the allée du Château on your left and continue along the chemin du Serral until you reach the crossroads with the Route Départementale.

Cross the Route Départementale (careful, busy road), and go straight ahead on the concrete path. Go downhill, past the voie verte, leaving the first two paths on your left, and the next one on your right, which leads to the Albine departmental site. Continue along this path for 50 m.

At the junction of three paths: turn right onto the narrow path and then, at the intersection, go straight ahead. Take the small staircase to the right, follow the path to the track. Follow it to the right (water treatment plant). At the concrete path, leave the track to the left, go straight on and cross the voie verte. Go straight up the asphalt road to the fork. Leave the chemin de la Gare and turn right into chemin de la Broue, then right again into chemin des Lavoirs. Cross the submersible footbridge.

Go left up the calade de la Font. At the end, turn right, then left into chemin des Claps. Follow this to the D908, cross at the "caution" crosswalk (poor visibility). After the bridge over the Ruisseau d'Arles, turn right up the road to the town hall.

Climb the stairs on the left for 600 m.

At the intersection, leave the yellow signposting (PR Gorges de Colombières), which continues straight up, and turn left. Begin the descent, punctuated by "halts" dedicated to writer and screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière. Rejoin the parking lot at the church.
In case of emergency, call 112.
- Respect the layout of trails to limit trampling of vegetation and erosion. - Learn to know and respect the flora and fauna, especially in sensitive areas. - Don't leave any trace of your passage or garbage, and take it with you to the next garbage can. - Don't make fires in the wild. - Don't damage crops or plantations. - Never forget to close fences and gates behind you. - Keep dogs on a leash - they could cause damage or be the victim of an accident. - Don't drink water from streams: its apparent clarity doesn't necessarily mean it's drinkable. - During the hunting season, check with the local authorities. Some routes can be dangerous. - Find out about the regulations governing access to nature reserves and Natura 2000 areas (dogs, the use of noisemakers and plant-picking may be prohibited in certain cases).
Specific recommendations:
