The departure is from Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. On avenue Lobbé, opposite the "Renault" garage, you can see the old very small tacot station. Not far, on the left after the village exit sign, is the Chapelle du Port Bas, and 300m further on the salmon incubator, just after the Tartarel stream (free visit). About 3km after the castle, on your left, you will see the Carbe rock cave and a little further a viewpoint on the castle of Castelnau. Once in the village, you will see its church, then the road climbs before arriving at Puybrun.
You are in the Lot. Stay alert, traffic is heavier. The route crosses to the other side of the Dordogne to reach Bretenoux. You ascend to the imposing Castle of Castelnau, a magnificent medieval fortress.
On the way back, a descent is offered to return to Bretenoux. After Biars-sur-Cère, finish your loop by returning to Beaulieu.
