Up to the local mountain of Bad Laasphe! At the summit of the 535 m high Entenberg, you can not only watch the flying skills of hang gliders and paragliders, but also enjoy the overwhelming view of Niederlaasphe and the upper Lahn valley. But please do not forget to enter the summit logbook amid all the watching and marveling! More highlights follow. The Perfstausee was built in 1984 after a flood disaster and is now a popular excursion destination. The adjacent nature reserve offers a refuge especially for water birds. The Biedenkopf forest offers beautiful views to finish. From the Columbus Temple, the old town of Biedenkopf and the Landgrave's castle can be admired from particularly charming perspectives.
Today's stage starts at the Haus des Gastes in Bad Laasphe. From here you follow the red LW on a white background up to the Kurpark. Already at the first shelter you have a nice view back to Bad Laasphe. Through the forest it continues to the Hugo-Kracht-Hütte, where the Lahnwanderweg branches off to the left. Further through the forest and over a plateau shaped by Storm Kyrill, it goes steeply up to the Entenberg. The ascent is rewarded with an impressive view of Niederlaasphe and the Lahn valley. Like in a model landscape, the trains of the upper Lahntalbahn pass through the valley. Warning! Don't forget to make an entry in the summit logbook while admiring the view!
After another section of forest, the village of Breidenstein comes into view. Through the village you walk down to the local recreation area Perfstausee. It is worth stopping here. From the sun terrace you have a fabulous view of the lake and the surrounding wooded hills. Well strengthened, you are now prepared for the following uphill section. This first leads through the forest to the shelter "Stehtischler", where there is another opportunity to rest and relax. Shortly afterwards we reach the highest point of the hike, which offers a fantastic view of the surrounding area.
The marking leads us further through beautiful deciduous forest. Enjoy the peace and let your soul dangle. But don't miss the turnoff to the Columbus Temple. Because the short detour should definitely be planned in. The original construction of the Columbus Temple is meant to demonstrate the openness of the citizens of Biedenkopf and the beautiful view of Biedenkopf Castle and the old town is included for free. Past the Amselborn Fountain, you now walk down to the Biedenkopf train station. The small town delights the soul with its romantic alleys and half-timbered houses, the palate with cozy cafés and restaurants, and last but not least the body with relaxing overnight accommodations.
Normal hiking clothing required. Bring packed lunch and drinks.
