On this section, you are beyond the Green Belt on the former western side. But even here, the division of Germany has left its marks.
The Turau Tower, which can be seen from the cycle path over a long distance, is one of the relics of this time. It is said that Allied listening devices were housed here.
A small detour takes you to the former barracks in Neu Tramm, a relic of the Third Reich. In a secret operation, the first V1 rockets were built here. During the division of Germany, this barracks was used by the Federal Border Guard, and today it houses training and art rooms.
Continuing through the villages, you arrive at the end of this route in Lübeln. Here you will find the Rundling Museum, a very beautiful open-air museum where you can learn a lot about the history of the Wendland.
