Mittelland Skate: From Wettingen to Olten

The best-preserved Cistercian monastery in Switzerland can be visited right at the beginning of the route. Then it goes along the eastern slope of Chrüzliberg and Baregg through Baden to Brugg. Here, the proud Königsfelden monastery and the Roman amphitheater are passed – both places bear witness to a moving past. The green sections between the villages invite you to let your gaze wander. Already visible from afar is the next witness of the past – the hill castle Lenzburg, which towers over the town of the same name.

Showing the Staufberg his left shoulder, the route continues rolling along forest edges and over streams that meander gaily through nature, towards the cantonal capital. In the “city of the beautiful gables” it is worth looking up. Charming cafés and delightful specialist shops invite you to take a cozy break before the discovery journey continues. Along the Aare, the path leads through dynamic floodplain areas into the historic old town of Olten.
