Any type of bike, from road bikes to mountain bikes to e-bikes.
Road Bikes: Climbing gears (compact with 28/30 tooth cassette at the rear).
MTB/Gravel: Highly recommended for better grip and comfort on the ground, which can be slightly less perfect than the valley center.
E-bike: Ideal for a peaceful and scenic excursion, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding nature.
Clothing: Standard for climbing, with a windproof vest for the descent.
To ensure you an unforgettable and safe experience on the roads and trails of Alta Valtellina, we invite you to follow these simple but essential instructions:
Helmet Always Mandatory: Always wear a helmet, properly fastened. It is your main safety device, indispensable on every outing.
Adequate Clothing: Weather changes in the mountains are rapid. Prepare layered clothing to protect you from sun, wind, rain, and cold. Gloves and glasses are recommended.
Essential Repair Kit: Always carry a minimal repair kit: spare inner tube (or tubeless kit), pump/CO2 cartridge, tire levers, multi-tool.
Hydration and Nutrition: Keep hydrated by drinking regularly. Bring enough water and energy supplements (bars, gels) for the entire outing.
Weather Conditions: Always check weather forecasts before leaving and be ready to change plans quickly in the mountains. In case of sudden bad weather (storms, fog), seek shelter.
Respect the Traffic Code: Even if our roads have less traffic, always respect the traffic code. Ride in single file, signal your intentions, and pay attention to other road users.
Do not leave traces and do not abandon waste.
Communication and Emergency: In case of emergency, know whom to contact (e.g., emergency number 112/118).

Scenic Points: Look for spots where the vegetation clears to admire the views over the Bormio basin.
Silence and Nature: It is a very quiet climb, perfect for those seeking peace and contact with nature. Be discreet.
Animals: Possibility of encountering grazing animals, proceed with caution.
