Vertical Style

Starting point of the route is Monte Castellana; get going from the sea alternating sections on asphalt with dirt roads, mostly easy except for the last 50 m, enjoying stunning views of amazing places like Monte Muzzerone, Portovenere headland, the church of San Pietro or far away the Palmaria and Tino islands and the tiny Tinetto island. Along the last section you can admire the panorama of the Gulf of Poets. From the top of Monte Castellana the proper track begins with 200 m at the start of pure adrenaline, characterized by a smooth and fast section that leads to more technical passages and to some pedalling, along an almost flat section. From there, you will need both technique and strength to reach the end of the track.
