Flattachberg - Poschacher - Jausenstation Edenhütte (F02)

The route first leads us along asphalt roads through the villages in the municipality of Flattach. In the second third, the route moves along a lightly trafficked, sunny mountain road up the Flattachberg. We leave the last farmsteads behind and enjoy the further ascent in the shade of the trees. Along the way, in the last third, enjoy beautiful views of the Kreuzeck mountain group. The last 800 meters lead us along a gravel road to our highest point. Upon arrival, you look as far as the Lienz Dolomites and down to the lower Mölltal valley. The prominent Danielsberg stands in the middle of the valley. After another 500 meters along the gravel road, you reach the Jausenstation Edenhütte (managed).
If that’s not enough, you can especially worthwhile extend this route via the Staneralm to Himmelbauer (Staneralm-Himmelbauer circular route O02).
From Außerfragant or Flattach, the route initially goes along the road L20a towards the Mölltaler Glacier. Immediately after the first (left) hairpin turn, the road to Flattachberg branches off to the right. Following the signage, continue uphill (mostly keep right). Shortly before the farmstead called Großercher, the Alpe-Adria-Trail joins our route from below. After 4 more hairpin bends on asphalt, a distinctive intersection is reached. Here we keep left and soon reach the former mountain farm "Poschacher" on a forest road. Upon arrival, enjoy a comprehensive view around you of the opposite Kreuzeck group, the Millstättersee, and the rugged Lienz Dolomites. After another 500 meters along the forest road, you reach the Jausenstation Edenhütte. The return trip follows the same path. The Staneralm-Himmelbauer circular route (O02) continues along the forest road and is highly worthwhile!
Bring food and enough to drink (places to eat only in the valley area at the starting points or at the Jausenstation Edenhütte - please observe opening hours).
In the spirit of positive coexistence with landowners, hunting rights holders, and other stakeholders, please adhere to the following usage times:
May 1 to September 30: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 1 to October 31: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Motorway A10 – coming from Villach/Italy
Via the Spittal/Millstättersee junction to the Lendorf exit, take the B100 to the exit towards Mölltal, then take the B106 to Flattach/Außerfragant.
Federal road B106 – coming from Lienz
Take the B107 to Winklern, there turn towards Mölltal, then take the B106 to Flattach/Außerfragant.
From early/mid-June to mid-September, the bike and hiking bus runs daily from Spittal/Drau to Heiligenblut.
Parking spaces are available in the village.
