Panorama Bike Stage 12 (SchweizMobil 2)

The stage starts with a leisurely ride along Schwarzsee. The view of the rugged mountain formations is a special treat. At the end of the valley, it now goes steeply uphill to the La Balisa Pass. On compact gravel roads, across flowery meadows and past several alpine farms, the highest point of the stage is crossed at the pass. The multilingual place names reveal: we are now directly at the language border, the transition from the German-speaking part of Switzerland to the Romandie. The further down the path leads, the clearer this becomes.

With a view of the freestanding Moléson peak and the Fribourg Pre-Alps, you pass the Valsainte monastery, the only remaining Carthusian monastery in Switzerland. Finally, Charmey is reached, the destination of the route.
