The ride continues towards the Montmorency forest, which spans 1972 hectares across 13 municipalities. It is made up of 90% chestnut trees.
Then, you can take a detour to Château de la Chasse, dating from the 12th century and built by Mathieu de Montmorency. It is not open to visitors, but two educational trails start from the castle.
A few more kilometers and you cross Saint Prix. In this town, Victor Hugo’s family resided in 1840 at the former Château de la Terrasse. Edmond Rostand also lived here from 1900 to 1903 at Château Doublé.
