207 Mittelberg Parpan

This comfortable hike leads to the old Maiensäß settlement in Mittelberg and offers a beautiful nature experience. Along the way, you can visit the alpine cheese dairy, and before the destination, a detour to Schlossli Parpan is recommended.

The starting point of the approximately seven-kilometer circular hike is the village square Ried in Parpan, which is located directly on the main road to Lenzerheide and at the Postauto stop Parpan Post. Along this path is the Parpan alpine cheese dairy. A stop is worthwhile: at the display dairy, you can learn more about the processing of alpine milk. Actual cheese-making takes place only during the summer months. Upon reaching Mittelberg, a detour to the listed late Gothic church and Schlossli Parpan is worthwhile. This was built in the mid-16th century and expanded in 1675 to its final version with a cross ridge, octagonal cupola, and balcony.
