A path lined with magnificent pasture maples leads through hay meadows and continues on the GR®5 to the Vogelsteine rocks. These overlook the Wegscheid Volcanic Forest nature reserve, a true natural museum of geology.
From the Gsang farmhouse-inn, follow the Club Vosgien markings: red triangle towards Rossberg, then yellow and red cross barred with white (access to GR5). Continue following the red rectangle towards Vogelstein. Return via the blue triangle then the red triangle back to the Gsang farmhouse-inn.

Get information on the approach hike, the height of the route, duration, possible escape route (IGN map, GPS, guidebook, etc…)
Assess possible risks by consulting mountain professionals, refuges, lodges
Inform someone close about your plans and contact them if there is any change: departure and return times, number of participants with each phone number, vehicle(s), parking
Avoid going alone, use equipment suitable for the activity, adjusted and in good condition, headlamp, complete first aid kit, survival blanket, etc…
