The Kapfwald round leads over six kilometers on paved paths and groomed routes through the picturesque landscape around Oberstaufen. Nearly one third of the path runs through the wintry Kapfwald. The premium route perfectly highlights the numerous farmsteads and homesteads outside the Schroth healing spa. The elevation difference of 170 meters is moderate – the route is well suited as a leisurely two- to three-hour walk for relaxed strolling in an intact winter world. Yellow signposts guide you along the entire route. Due to the parking lot being moved to the tennis hall, the round already starts at the road junction up to Sinswang and initially runs a few meters along the road.
Route description: At the Argenstraße junction below Sinswang, a groomed route first runs along the road towards Genhofen and in a large arc over open fields back to the edge of the village of Sinswang. From there, it goes once again away from the summer path up to the district of Saneberg. We follow the winter trail uphill into the romantic Kapfwald and reach the so-called Windeck. From here, there is a wonderful panoramic view towards Steibis and the snow-covered peaks of the Nagelfluh range. A few meters further, we have a nice view of the village of Oberstaufen, then it goes again into the forest. Shortly thereafter, a groomed route passes a small brook and over open areas back towards Sinswang. With a beautiful view down into the Moos as well as towards Buflings and Zell, the last meters descend to Sinswang (refreshments available) and from there downhill on the sidewalk to the starting point at the Argenstraße/Sinswang junction.

Our round tour, however, goes straight ahead and uphill further. After entering Kapfwald, keep right at the next junction and follow this path to the next large fork. In sunshine, magical light effects penetrate through the snow-covered treetops. Straight ahead follows another groomed section leading to an open area with a wonderful panorama towards Steibis as well as the Hochgrat and other peaks of the Nagelfluh range. Shortly afterwards, the view falls on the center of Oberstaufen with the parish church and the "Staufen" in the background. Once more into the forest and downhill, follow the signs of the premium trail. In a large loop, a groomed route runs idyllically along a small brook back towards Sinswang. One last downhill section and then the starting point is reached. Here, the Sinswanger Stuben invite you to a cozy break or you can watch the lively hustle and bustle at the Sinswang ski lifts.

Important notes:
Please use the parking lots at the tennis hall or the Kurhaus – the private parking spaces at the Sinswang ski lift are exclusively for skiers and snowboarders. Note that the Kapfwald round can only be groomed and walked on when there is sufficient snow. In case of snow shortage, please use the official hiking trails on the Kapf and do not walk over the meadows.
