Immenstadt Photo Walk

The tour starts at the affordable parking lot by the Aach River and leads first up to Kalvarienberg. After the first curve, a small road branches off, leading out into the open fields. Continue straight ahead until the path turns into an idyllic forest trail.

At the top,the first photo spot awaits: a viewing bench with a magnificent view over the “Städtle” invites you to take a short break. The route then leads through the forest back to the road, where the second photo spot —the idyllically situated Kalvarienberg Chapel—awaits. Head down the stairs to the third photo spot —another beautifully situated bench with an impressive view of Immenstadt.

At the foot of Kalvarienberg, the hike continues into the historic old town. At Klosterplatz, the fourth photo spot awaits, featuring the Capuchin monks and the Goat Fountain. From here, the trail climbs up to Marienplatz, the historic center of Immenstadt. The Marian Column, City Palace, and Old Town Hall offer several noteworthy photo opportunities at the fifth photo spot.

To the left of the City Palace, a small stream babbles; the route follows it upstream to Landwehrplatz. There, three cows provide a particularly unique photo opportunity. Pass through the underpass to continue on to the historic Villa Edelweiß. The beautiful park grounds—now home to the music school—make up the seventh photo spot on the tour.

On the way back toward the Old Town, you’ll cross the railroad tracks and reach Bräuhausplatz. Here,one of Immenstadt’smost famous photo spots awaits: the statue of the beer drinker on the park bench. Of course, a group photo to commemorate the moment is a must at this eighth photo spot.

The tour concludes at Fidel-Schlund-Platz with the ninth and final photo spot. Afterward, the route takes you back at a leisurely pace to the parking lot by the Aach—with a whole collection of special photos and new perspectives on the royal seat of Immenstadt to take home.
