AuszeitWandern: Eichenau-Emmeringer Leite-Fürstenfeldbruck

From Eichenau station, the route heads west. We walk along the Starzelbach and come to the Oberroggenstein estate. The Heuweg runs along the foot of the Emmeringer Leite. On the right, the forest rises, on the left, the view extends over the meadows. The wooded ridge stretches for four kilometers and is 1.5 kilometers wide. With its maximum height of 561 meters, it towers about 40 to 50 meters above the surrounding area. The terminal moraine from the Mindel ice age is known for its two castle sites (Roggenstein and Gegenpoint). The forest path climbs, and information boards reveal that the Emmeringer forest educational trail also runs here. At the western end of the loop, it goes through a small settlement at the height of the Emmering brickworks. Now you have the choice: either head back to Eichenau and refresh your feet at the Kneipp facility in the Starzelbach or stroll past the Gegenpoint castle site further to Fürstenfeldbruck station.
