Werdensteiner Moos round

The starting point is the Viehmarktplatz in Immenstadt. From there, the route leads along Rothenfelsstraße into the town center to Marienplatz. The route then runs past the traffic circle through Salzstraße and continues along Faulenzerweg. After the underpass under the railroad tracks, the route continues straight on past the sports fields and over the Iller bridge along Lake Rauhenzell.

In Rauhenzell, the route follows the signs to Untermaiselstein. A short section runs on a cycle path along the country road and main road. At the next junction, cross the country road and follow the cycle path that runs slightly to the left, accompanied by a stream from the Iller flood control system.

Untermaiselstein with its alpine dairy and bat lake is on the right. The gravel path ends at a bridge over the Iller. The route then turns right onto theIller cycle path. Along embankments and meadows, you reach Thanners. There is an access point to the circular footpath through the Werdensteiner Moos.

The route continues parallel to the railroad line to Ringgen near Oberdorf. At the single farmhouse, the trail turns left and shortly afterwards left again towards Eckarts. From there, the route runs downhill towards Werdenstein. Shortly before the village, the Burgweg branches off to the right to the Burgcafé Werdenstein. Here you will not only find excellent homemade cakes, but also hearty dishes from regional cuisine and a sun terrace with a magnificent view of the guardian of the Allgäu - the Grünten - with the Allgäu mountains in the background.

The route continues on a side road via Gnadenberg to Bräunlings. In Bräunlings, follow the cycle signs to Stein. Turn right at the petrol station, then straight ahead and left before the kindergarten. Cross the village square and past the church of St. Mauritius to return to the Iller cycle path in the direction of Immenstadt.

The Konstanzer Ach is crossed over a narrow bridge, then the route runs past the traffic training area and hospital along the road "Im Stillen". At the end, you reach the railroad underpass again. Then back to the city center via the already familiar Faulenzerweg. This offers the perfect opportunity to end the cycle tour in one of Immenstadt' s lovely ice cream parlors.
