Paradiessteig Hofstetten

From Henry-Heller-Platz, the route heads towards the church, passing the inn Drei Schneeballen, then turning left to the Hansjakob Chapel. This is the final resting place of the pastor and writer Heinrich Hansjakob, one of the most colorful personalities of the Black Forest in the early 20th century. He always referred to Hofstetten as "Paradise" and dedicated a book to the place under this title.

Afterwards, the path climbs steeply uphill over an unmarked section/trail to the "Kapf," a rest area with a magnificent view. Then it continues to Bannstein and Biereck (a place to stop for refreshments).

From here, there are two options: the shorter route, the old trail back to the village, about 5 km, or continue following the Hansjakob path towards Höhenhäuser up to "Ob dem Pflughof," then to Hessenberg. Past Oberen Steinhof to Niederhofereck and Helgenrain. Here stands the Helmut Rau Hut, inviting you to linger and offering a beautiful view. The route then returns to the village via the "Rot."
