Albstadt-Burgfelden - Burgweg - Heersberg (wheelchair accessible)

We start at the parking lot at the village entrance of Burgfelden and proceed along Eschenbachstraße towards the village center. After about 300 meters, we pass the former parish church of St. Michael on the left. A short detour is worthwhile; at least from outside you can view the small church. A sign provides information about the extensive wall paintings.

At the intersection in the middle of Burgfelden, we turn into Burgweg and stroll through this picturesque village to its end. There we turn left towards the Heersberg parking lot. From here, follow the paved path on the Alb plateau until you reach the playground and barbecue area on the left. (The last meters to the playground and barbecue area cross a flat meadow.)

After ample playing, barbecuing, or resting, return via the same path to the intersection in the village center. There, we turn left into the alley. On the right is the Berg-Café with an idyllic sunny terrace and cozy parlor.

We turn right into Hinterer Garten and at the end of the street right onto Böllatstraße and walk back to the parking lot/start point.

Additional detours (not wheelchair accessible):

a) For those who are good on foot, a small climb is recommended via an idyllic meadow path amid juniper heaths up to Heersberg. From up here you have a wonderful view of Burgfelden and Schalksburg. Enjoy the wide view and outlook; benches and picnic spots are available.

b) From the Berg-Café, a detour to the well-known viewpoint Böllat is recommended. Be surprised, one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Swabian Alb. There are also plenty of benches here to relax.

Sturdy footwear is recommended.

Easy to find. The parking lot at the village entrance of Albstadt-Burgfelden is, as the name suggests, directly at the village entrance. Approach via Eschenbachstraße coming from Albstadt-Pfeffingen.
