Family adventure tour Sommerberg

The starting point is at the castle parking lot, from where you follow the signs on the path through the beech forest up to the Chapel of the Cross. It is lined with several Stations of the Cross. Once on the Alb plateau, we reach a vantage point at the Kreuzkapelle chapel, which offers a wonderful view over the town and the Upper Filstal valley. Next, you pass the Rosenhof farm and riding school on the way through the Bläsihöfe farms. Passing the Eckhöfe and Ziegelhof farms, you reach a barbecue area. On the way down to the small town, there are always wonderful views of the valley of the young Fils. The last section leads through the historic town center, past half-timbered buildings and through the courtyard of the imposing Wiesensteiger Residential Palace. You cross the Fils over a bridge and return to the starting point.

Wear sturdy, non-slip shoes and clothing suitable for the weather. A rucksack with water, snacks and a first aid kit is recommended.

Some paths can be slippery and dangerous when wet. Watch your steps and use walking poles for stability if necessary.

Wiesensteig is located directly on the A8 Stuttgart-Munich highway: Exit Wiesensteig/Mühlhausen. 4 km from Mühlhausen im Täle to Wiesensteig.
