The route starts in Riedlingen, whose city center owes its special charm to its fountains and the marketplace surrounded by half-timbered houses. Our path leads us along the Danube to Zwiefaltendorf. The town with its pretty castle lies idyllically right at the confluence of the Zwiefalter Ach into the Danube. From here, the route follows the Zwiefalter Ach. In the village of Zwiefalten, you can admire Upper Swabian Baroque, and if you need a little refreshment, the well-known and popular Zwiefalter Klosterbräu is recommended. The route through the Danube valley is characterized by many small villages. In Steinhilben, the Augstberg Tower of the Swabian Alb Association is a must for those wanting to enjoy a beautiful view. From there, the route continues to the destination, Trochtelfingen. The town is surrounded by the mountains and hills of the Swabian Alb and offers not only relaxation and beautiful nature but also the opportunity to admire the historic city center with its half-timbered houses.
The medieval-influenced Riedlingen offers an impressive town hall ensemble and a city fortification as well as numerous half-timbered houses. We start the route heading north past Daugendorf and reach Bechingen just before crossing the Danube. Then we continue to Zwiefaltendorf and Zwiefalten. A highlight there is the monastery with the Zwiefalter Münster and the Wimsener Cave, the only water cave accessible by boat in Germany. Thirsty throats are helped at the Zwiefalter Monastery Brewery, whose beer is popular far beyond the region’s borders. Further on, the route passes through the quaint towns of Gauingen and Huldstetten. We pass Tigerfeld and other charming villages like Aichstetten, Pfronstetten, and Wilsingen. Now we ride on the Swabian Alb through a wonderful landscape with green fields and meadows as far as the eye can see, heading north toward Trochtelfingen. Soon we reach the district of Steinhilben and shortly after the medieval-influenced Trochtelfingen, our destination.

You definitely shouldn't miss the city museum "Schöne Stiege" in Riedlingen, one of the best-preserved half-timbered houses in Upper Swabia from the 16th century.
