This circuit is longer, with significant elevation gain and a climb (col de Durbize). It's suitable for cyclists who ride regularly. The climbs of Chiroubles, then Juliénas will serve as warm-up to reach the col de Durbize with sections at 10%.
Tourism side
Facing the Saône valley, the hillside vineyard covers the hills whose summits reach 1,000 meters. To the north of the appellation, slopes and altitude require often manual harvesting. The vine clings to terrain up to 500 meters in altitude and occupies slopes that can exceed 30%, as is the case on Chiroubles. On this rolling relief, the silhouettes of castles, generally wine estates, appear amid wooded parks. Beaujolais has more than 150 of these estates.
