I'm heading out | Outback
Less crowded backcountry with rocky sections. When the rocks on the Leyberg are warmed by the sun, you'll want to stay forever. But the next peak challenges you: the Himmerich.

Through Bad Honnef, you follow through a kind of park along the Annapfad beside the Ohbach uphill. A comfortable forest path takes you up to the Leyberg, located about 150m higher. At the top, you should definitely enjoy the view from the summit rock. At the end, a wonderfully rocky path leads you up. You reach the Himmerich via the lonely forest road "Mittelbergsweg." A detour to the viewpoint is also worthwhile here; there is space for a picnic. Decades of extraction of volcanic latite rock shaped the mountain with its steep rock walls. Going down into the Schmelztal is partly via a beautiful singletrail; the opposite hillside takes you back to Bad Honnef on a lovely forest path.
Light rail 66, Bad Honnef station (final stop) or RE 8 / RB 27, Bad Honnef station
