Within the territory of the "Electoral Thiergarten Arnsberg" lies a unique attraction in North Rhine-Westphalia, a hiking trail through very diverse nature with insights and views. On the walk, you learn to read historical traces and can discover a variety of cultural-historical treasures. The approximately 12-kilometer-long and well-marked trail leads you out of the city into the soothing silence of the forest and back again. The duration of the rewarding walk depends on how intensively you want to engage with the adventure stations. The path can also be walked in stages, as there are shortcut options available.
The starting point of this eventful circular hike is the parking lot at the Jägerbrücke in Arnsberg. First, you walk through the residential area along Tiergartenstraße parallel to the Ruhr before turning sharply left into the forest. Here, you pass through the so-called Herbreme. Each of the adventure stations is marked with a QR code. Simply scan it to learn about the natural or cultural-historical events to be seen. The path leads past the former fish and swimming ponds uphill on the left towards Kapune. However, you should definitely take the detour straight ahead, as the Goetheeiche lies to the right of the path.
Past the ponds, the path now climbs quite steeply uphill to Kapune. From there, continue past the charcoal burners' huts downhill into the Seufzertal. From there, continue to the Kreuzberg and the Rüdenburg. From here, it goes downhill via the Kreuzweg back to the starting point at the Jägerbrücke.
