CONTEMPORARY ART of the Giffre // «ART and NATURE» trail

The contemporary art route of the Giffre, art and nature trail, continues the sculpture park of the Chartreuse de Mélan.
It is co-managed by the association artistes en Herbe and the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council.
On the banks of the Giffre, between Taninges, La Rivière-Enverse, and Morillon, two permanent works are created each year by nationally recognized artists as part of artist residencies (hosted at the Chartreuse).
Each residency proposal issues a specific call for participation, linked to the identity of the territory to involve the population in the artists' project in one way or another.
The contemporary art route of the Giffre, art and nature trail, aims to
present sculptures in public spaces.
It is like an open-air museum along a single route, in dialogue with the natural environment, intended for all audiences.
This initiative seeks to showcase the diversity of current contemporary creation with its ambition for research and innovation.
Visitors will find information by each work to better appreciate them.
The art and nature trail also hosts other activities within the framework of EELAN experimental space - Art and Nature Laboratory
- Creations for young audiences and adults, mostly ephemeral, in resonance with the work of the resident artists.
- Productions from creation projects under the "Paths of Culture" program of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council. This program hosts artists in secondary schools and develops specific creation projects with students in partnership with the association artistes en Herbe which coordinates.
You will also find some creations originally made at the start of the art and nature trail project initiated in 2014 by the plastic artist members of the association artistes en herbe.
