The SW09 Neubergrunde is a varied mountain bike loop in the Neuberg area near Filzmoos and is ideal for both leisure riders and sporty recreational bikers. The tour starts at the Reitsteg in Neuberg, directly opposite the kindergarten. From there, the route follows a quiet asphalt road, climbing gently past the Landhotel Alpenhof towards Hotel Neubergerhof. After the last houses, the route changes onto a well-maintained forest road and continues through short forest sections and open alpine meadows. The steady climb offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape throughout the tour. After passing Lettenhof, the steepest section leads up to the Gsenghofalm. Once at the top, riders are rewarded with stunning panoramic views. The return route follows forest roads and asphalt paths gently downhill back to the starting point at the Reitsteg in Neuberg.
Passing Hotel Neubergerhof and the last houses, you continue onto a forest road. The climb becomes steadier here and leads through a short forest section. After passing Lettenhof, follow the signposts towards Gsenghofalm, which includes the steepest section of the tour. Along the way, there are several beautiful viewpoints overlooking the surrounding mountains.
Once you arrive at Gsenghofalm, the route continues first along a forest road and then on asphalt, gently descending all the way back to the starting point in Neuberg (Reitsteg).

From Ramsau am Dachstein: At the roundabout, take the exit towards Neuberg and follow the main road towards Neuberg for 4 km. Opposite the Filzmoos kindergarten, there is a public, free parking lot.
Continue by bus or taxi: From Eben im Pongau or Radstadt, bus line 521 goes directly to Filzmoos, stop Neuberg/Reitsteg (travel time approx. 20–30 minutes). Alternatively, taxis are available at the station. Tip: The buses do not run very frequently – check the timetable in advance and whether the bus also transports bicycles on ÖBB
With the Fidibus summer service: From Filzmoos (Filzmoos tourist information), there is the Fidibus Summer (hiking bus), which takes you from Filzmoos to Neuberg, stopping at Neuberg. Here you can find the timetable.
Free parking is available at the car park opposite the kindergarten, next to the main road.
You can obtain a mountain bike map with information about this tour at the Filzmoos Tourist Information Office.
A short break at the Gsenghofalm is well worth it – the magnificent mountain views quickly make you forget the climb.
