Shaped by girls only – shredded by girls only!

This was last Sunday’s motto at quattro Snow Park Obergurgl, where this year’s first Girls Shred Session took place. With perfect conditions, the park was packed with shredding and shaping girls, as well as lots of smiling faces and massive progression

Girls Shred… what?!
Quick and to the point for everyone who hasn’t heard of the Girls Shred Sessions before: For already four years, park-enthusiastic girls have the chance to spend wonderful days at the Girls Shred Sessions organized by QParks, shredding the park and improving their riding. Their media crew is always on spot eager to capture the best shots for the participating girls. For the first GSS of the year, roughly 45 girls were on hand at 10:00 at quattro Snow Park Obergurgl. Since the Girls Shred Session represented the park-premiere for some of the girls, motivation and excitement filled the air.

Pro-tips and shape tools for the girls
Apart from the perfectly shaped park and bluebird weather, the great vibes were definitely due to the coaches. As the girls weren’t just in the park to spend a nice day with nice people, improving their park skills obviously had priority. Lisi Gram, Freeski Austria pro, took care of the freeskiers and Conny Bernert shredded with the snowboarders. The former German halfpipe champion was the ideal choice to motivate the girls and made for some serious progression. Both coaches checked the girls’ performance and were able to show them some new tricks. Conny and Lisi were totally stoked about the riding level and unanimously said: “It was great to see, how fast the girls put our tips into action.” New tricks weren’t the only premieres of the day. When park designer Sam Bird left the shape tools to the girls during the how-to-shape-workshop, they got to reshape the park for the first time.

Girls own the park!
Conny was super happy about the successful day: “We basically conquered the park! I think that the Girls Shred Sessions offer the riders a great chance to meet new people and find new shred-buddies.” Both coaches were highly impressed by the number of participants and Lisi smiled: “It was really incredible, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen this many girls in a park before! The Girls Shred Sessions manage to bring all riding girls from the wider neighborhood together”, the coach comments the session.

Lastly, all riders went home with bags filled with goodies from Planet Sports, Golden Ride and QParks, as well as many new tricks and great memories of a sweet session.
